Spring is finally here.  I find this year to be the hardest yet in my journey.  My Beloved has been gone for almost four years.   My heart is happy for today's sunshine.   I hope you all are doing well.

Dear DA Friends,

Last night, I slept downstairs on the sofa. Mostly to keep the fire going in the night...the rain fell and sang--the fire crackled and spat. The mystery of winter cloaked the night--and I suddenly felt the sadness of not being able to share that moment with my Beloved. There is a peculiar sort of lonesomeness which comes when a spouse has gone to heaven.

In the wee hours of the morning, I cried. But those tears were healing. I am so grateful for the years he and I had together. I miss him--yet there is so much beauty and goodness around--so many sparkles of joy to be seen. So much for which to be thankful.

Hello DA Artists,

Summer is here with it's hot weather, clear days and towering thunderstorms.  I love summer--there was a time when I liked Fall and Winter best.  But since my Beloved flew away to another place, Spring and summer has been dear to my heart with all their promise of flowers and the harvest.

I love the hummingbirds as they dance their fierce battles in my back yard.  They are such funny little creatures, and boy do I hear about it if I don't keep their feeders full!  My newest visitors, next to the Annas, are a Black Chinned Hummer and a Rufus.  I also have robins, scrub jays, chickadees and two kinds of goldfinches.  They delight my eyes.

Yesterday I harvested some great veggies from my little city garden, as well as grapes and wild black berries.  My faves are the thornless blackberries, which a master gardener bred and then gave me starts.  They are easy to pick and wonderful for blackberry pies and jams!

I've had quite a few requests for commissions to do artwork lately, and I've also done two photoshoots including the wedding of a friend.    Ah, the golden days of summer.  There will be more stock pictures as soon as I have time to upload them.

I hope the stock I have submitted here, will not only give you what is needed for your artwork, but that somehow conveys a sense of something beyond myself.

Hello DA Artists,

The day my life changed forever, I thought the whole world should stop, too.  But time has marched on.  I continue to mourn the loss of my Beloved, especially when the seasons change. 

Signs of Spring are everywhere...flowers, spring birds, budding trees--and the sweet aroma of the cottonwood trees.  How he would have loved it all.  Life does go on--but for me, with bittersweet beauty.
